A National Health Professions Report and State Dataset

A comprehensive employment study of the US health sector.

QRS conducted a comprehensive employment study of the US health sector.  The study obtained data available from public and private data systems. The number of persons in each of 60 health professions and occupations was explored. The study prepared employment estimates as well as 10-year trends and forecasts. In order for the results to be reproduced over time, extensive use was made of data from the American Community Survey (ACS) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

For each of the professions and occupations, QRS prepared distribution maps by state (both counts and providers per population), and graphical representations by workforce setting, by age/sex/race/ethnicity, by wages and employment trends, and by educational attainment. The graphics were supported with summary discussion.

State tabulations were prepared summarizing the data collected as was a companion data set.
